Philadelphia Urban Service Camp 2019
On the weekend of February 8-10, 2019, 15 members from St. Stephen's traveled to Old First UCC in Philadelphia and shared a weekend service camp at the Old First Homeless Shelter, in the city with Ordinarie Heroes street ministries, and in one on one learning about homelessness and mission.
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, the group led a conversation during worship about the experience.
St. Stephen's UCC has been supporting the work of Ordinarie Heroes in Philadelphia, PA, since February 2019.
Ordinarie Heroes is an organization founded by Ron Toles, who believes that "I am enough" when it comes to changing lives through faith and service.
Ordinarie Heroes works with youth, the homeless, and other marginalized groups in the city to help meet their needs and change their lives.
During Lent this year, St. Stephen's UCC collected 62 Personal Care kits that were donated to Ordinarie Heroes. Ron Toles visited the church on May 19, 2019, and shared about the organization and the church raised $362 toward their work.
THE WORM PROJECT
Our newest mission outreach is THE WORM PROJECT, started by Jeff Hollenbach, a Perkasie native.
THE WORM PROJECT provides medicine to children between toddler age and kindergarten in third world countries to help them combat parasites in the water they drink.
Two cents is all it takes to keep a child healthy for a day!
Help us support the WORM PROJECT with a donation to one of our special "WORM PROJECT DONATION CONTAINERS" in the sanctuary! Thank you!
Thank you all for your support of Pedals 4 Progress on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
We collected 35 bicycles and 10 sewing machines that will change the lives of over 45 families in Ghana!
See you again next year!
Worship: Sundays at 9:30 am
